[identity profile] erilyn.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] sinpozium
Hope you all had a great time, I know [livejournal.com profile] alasen and I did - thank you all so much for coming!

I'll post some more stuff later, but quickly, just wanted to get a post up for people to share recs, links and info about fandoms/stories/art/vids that they pimped/discussed/mentioned over the weekend.

I mentioned this to a few people - it's great for sharing files even if its only between work and home or family!
Signing up with this link http://db.tt/8vFP9aX will give us both more space - if other Dropbox users want to post your own link you can do so too!

AO3 & OTW

Firstly, I have a bunch of invites to the Archive of Our Own (http://ao3.org), leave or send me your email address and I'll send you one. (If you left me your email address at sinpoz, you should already have received one.) I recommend it even if you're not a writer, the ao3 has plenty of neat features for readers as well.

Secondly, any volunteers for the org are welcome! Here's the Volunteers page (http://transformativeworks.org/how-you-can-help/volunteer) It's pretty sparse, so I can give you more info about each of the committees and volunteer groups if you'd like. Testers and coders are particularly welcomed, as are tag wranglers, of course. As I mentioned, I'm co-chair of tag wrangling, so it's clearly the best place to volunteer :D

And I'm happy to take any questions, feedback, etc, about tags & tag wrangling at any time!

I have links for almost all of the art I showed, if there is something you'd like to look at again.

y!Gallery is the "gay version of deviantART" I mentioned on Sunday. The main thing to be aware of is that the site has a lot of ground rules and they're pretty strictly enforced, so have a quick look through the Terms of Service before posting! Do join the Australians club if you sign up. :D

If you're in Sydney, Supanova is on next week.

Aw, I still really want a Veronica Mars/White Collar crossover. What I was remembering was [livejournal.com profile] gyzym's fic A Strange New Story Every Time (http://gyzym.livejournal.com/60184.html) which is a Veronica/Logan future-fic with a dash of Neal Caffrey.

Index to the fic is here: http://henry-herald.livejournal.com/

and there's a ship_manifesto essay here http://ship-manifesto.livejournal.com/267441.html#cutid1 which explains the whole thing rather more coherently than I did at the con!

Book pimp which there wasn't time for at the con: The Flight of the Heron, story of a friendship between a Highland chieftain and an English officer during the 1745 Jacobite Rising. Pre-dates Diana Gabaldon's Outlander series (which bears an uncanny resemblance to it, except that FotH is better-written) by seventy years or so. The TV series is up on Youtube; the link's in the post.

I promised a reminder of Fanlore (http://fanlore.org/wiki/Main_Page)!

As I mentioned, we desperately want new editors, and welcome almost everything in terms of fannish history. You can create an account here (http://fanlore.org/w/index.php?title=Special:UserLogin&type=signup), and our introductory material is available here (http://fanlore.org/wiki/Fanlore:Portal).

(Apologies for the lateness! 14 hour train trip of doom killed me dead.)

Oh and

After meeting you all, and realising how many people there are in Sydney, I was thinking about organising a slashmeet. I've got my proposal up in my lj over here (http://pollymel.livejournal.com/189095.html).
