I'm going to be spamming a bit this weekend, there's a few different things I need to post about, and I want to break them up so people don't miss the information. This is the least urgent of the lot, but I wanted to post while I was thinking about it.

Once Sinpozium is over, iibnf and I will be asking for feedback and discussion on how things went, what worked, what would people like the same/different in future events etc etc. There will be several ways do to this.
* Post publically to the mailing list or this community
* Email iibnf and/or me privately
* We'll allow screened anonymous commenting in this community. We'll unscreen those comments that are useful but not insulting.

This should enable people to give useful feedback either publically or privately, even if it is about the organisers! :)

Accommodation at the Y Hotel

I am going to try and get rooms at the Y Hotel grouped together. I don't know if they'll be able to do this for all (or any) of the rooms, but if you have booked and would like me to try for you, email me your room booking details (name, booking number, dates etc) and I'll see what can be done (erilyn@livejournal.com). I'd like to do this in the next week or so. I'll let you know what they say, and if it's possible for later bookings to get grouped as well.

If you are planning on staying at the hotel but haven't booked your room yet, I'd recommend doing so soon. There are still rooms available from what I've heard, but I'm not sure how many, and some ensuite rooms are unavailable. They take your credit card details for the booking, but don't charge you until that weekend, if that's an issue for you. It seems to be that it's easier to call them and make the booking than trying to do it online. Contact info is available at the Sinpozium website.

Important registration information

If you haven't registered for Sinpozium but are planning or hoping to attend, please read and reply to this.

Registration has been going very well, 29 people so far. However, if everyone who has expressed interest (but not registered yet) can make it, we'll want to change to a larger function room, if one is available. This means we need to know numbers as accurately as possible.

* If you are planning on coming, comment or email me at erilyn@livejournal.com and I'll send you info on how to pay registration.

* If you want to come but can't register yet, comment or email me. I'll then know who to chase up if it looks like we have to restrict numbers (this is a possibility if the current function room fills up but we can't move to a bigger one.

* If I don't hear from you in the next week, we'll assume you can't come and won't be counting you in our planning. If you have expressed interest (and I've emailed the ones I know of) and can't make it, please let me know.

Sinpozium is only 9 weeks away. Help us plan.

What's Your Favourite Fandoms?

Now that we are fine tuning the programming for sinpOZium (which makes this the first year we've had any sort of formal programming - it's a bit of an experiment...), would you all like to comment here and let us know what are your favourite fandoms?

The most popular ones are the ones we'd like to try and get panels or discussion groups for (but this doesn't mean we don't want smaller fandoms represented as well - these we'd like to see covered under the pimping sessions).

We are, in particular, looking for someone to lead a discussion, or run a panel, or something, for Due South as we know there are going to be a lot of fans of this show there. Would you like to stand up and tell everyone how much you like Due South?

Room Party

On the Saturday night, I'm going to a room party! You can bring booze, food (if you don't make a sloppy mess), we can make some noise (hopefully - if we can get our rooms close together). I can bring some porn if you guys are interested. We are going to try and put erilyn's room next to mine so we can spill into different rooms.

My room mate hasn't agreed to this... but hopefully she'll be all right with it.
