Sinpozium 2025 - Call for Content!

Hi everyone, it’s only 4 weeks until Sinpozium 2025, so we’re now asking for your suggestions about what you’d like to do this year! 

We’re looking for volunteers to 

• pimp fandoms

• lead discussions

• run games

• whatever!
  
  

To jog your memory about what types of activities people have run at Sinpozium, see our timetables: 2022 (online sinpoz) , 2017, 2015.

Topics

All types of fandoms (TV/Movies/Books/etc) whether it’s new or old! While we prioritise slashy/queer fandoms, other fandoms/source materials that Are Relevant To Our Collective Interests are welcome. If you're not sure if it fits, please ask in comments or via email.

Time

Approx. 5 minutes - 45 minutes. If you have a suggestion for a game or discussion you think would need longer, just let us know!

Format

• Presentations/videos/slideshows: These will be shown by laptop connected to the hotel's data projector via HDMI but if you’d rather not bring your own laptop, please bring a usb stick or external drive (VLC playable) or provide in advance. 
• Games: From experience these work best if they are simple and interactive
• Discussion topics: Multi-fandom are best! Topics might range from serious discussions of writing or fannish trends, to which characters look the best in tight jeans.

I thought I had a dreamwidth account but it’s not letting me sign in. Anyway. It’s Belinda, hi. Put me down to do something BL/GL/QL related… a presentation I guess.

I would like to try and rope even more people into watching The Spirealm! That presentation is called A Deadly Game – The Spirealm Triumphs (Briefly) Over Censors and is about 30-45 minutes.

I am also trying to put together something about Chinese short web dramas - hopefully around 30 minutes? Mostly clips with a bit of me talking.

I would love to do a Nirvana in Fire pimp/presentation but I have VidUKon deadlines looming so I won't be able to even think about it until after the due date (April 4) - can you pencil me in for say 30-45 mins and I can let you know in a week or two once I know how I'm tracking? (If there are a ton of folks wanting slots then no worries if you have to pop someone more definite in there)
