Online Sinpoz is confirmed!
It seems like there's enough interest to go ahead with an online Sinpozium this year. It will be held via Zoom on Saturday 23 April* (which means that if there's enough content/interest, maybe even extend it to Sunday 24 April?)

I've got a discussion topic I'm planning, Meelie has volunteered a vidshow, but what we need is more content! Please suggest and/or volunteer! Pimp or celebrate a fandom (surely someone wants to pounce on Our Flag Means Death?)! Suggest a group activity/game! Suggest a discussion topic (that you either lead or would like to happen without you have to do that)!

First Times
Something I would like to do is a Celebration of First Meetings! We'll assemble clips, and reminisce/discuss and maybe people can volunteer to introduce the clip for their OTP etc etc. But for starters, need suggestions of first meetings (and make it specific, like details of episode, maybe even the timing of episode. Provising an edited video or link to youtube clip would be even better).

Picnic
We're still considering a picnic meetup on the Sunday for Sydney locals, but given Sydney weather for the last few months...it feels like tempting fate trying to plan it yet. And I would feel terribly guilty if our hubris in attempting to plan such a thing made Anzac Day a washout...

(Also that first meetings thing sounds fun! Ones that come to mind immediately are the crash in Smallville, the boat in XMFC, idk if you would count the rooftop as first for CQL...)

And yes, I need to start working the first meetings, and somehow I did not have XMFC on the list, but I did have CQL rooftop, and that’s a good point. First meeting that audience sees or from character POV?

I'd be keen to talk about Genshin Impact! And for First Meetings, I'd love to intro Adoribull (Dragon Age: Inquisition) when they first meet in the Redcliffe Chantry at the lead-in to the "In Hushed Whispers" quest.

Thank you, I like both those ideas! Genshin Impact is a big fandom I have no idea about. Adoribull is something you’ll need to provide the video for, I don’t have that on hand :) Trying to keep videos for First Meetings short and sweet.

Yay! I think we should be able to fit it in (I’m thinking we’re maybe heading for a two day event, which might be better than one looong day).

Do you use PC or Mac? What format do you have the show in? Easiest way I find for a pimp is to make a bunch of individual clips, and make a playlist for them in VLC.

I don't think I can really go into the pipeline to comic/animation someone else mentioned though, I'm pretty sure what I have in mind would be pretty different.

Also, I'll leave it to someone else to pimp Untamed/grandmaster of demonic cultivation though I will mention it. :)

(There will probably be a pimp for scum villain self saving system though, and king's avatar because mistakes were made.)

I'll drop in for at least a bit! I love the first meetings idea - I think Fraser/RayK would be GREAT (but I seem to recall it would take a bit of editing). I'm also pretty fond of SGA although it's more like "John meets the Stargate programme"...
