Before we all meet (or meet again) at Sinpozium 2012, it’d be great if we could get to know each other a bit better. It really helps a lot for planning purposes, in terms of knowing popular fandoms and what people are familiar with etc. Feel free to skip not applicable points or anything you don't want to answer, of course. Tell us something about yourself: I started knitting a pair of rose warmers (wrist warmers which someone made the pattern up for after watching a doctor who episode) before last winter, but I lost the completed one in my house. should I keep looking for it, or just start a third? Opinions?

Shows I'm watching include The Good Wife, Revenge, Once Upon a Time, Grimm, Criminal Minds, Sherlock, Game of Thrones, Big Bang Theory. Shows I really do mean to catch up on (hah! this may or may not happen) include current seasons of NCIS, NCIS LA, Castle and maybe Hawaii 5-0. I'm looking forward to Avengers a lot.

What was your first fandom? : First fandom I actually started getting involved in was Babylon 5, first slash fandom was X-Files (I ran out of gen and het Krycek fic to read, so checked out this slash thing, cause I'd been under the mistaken impression it involved cutting and bloodplay and violence - as this was XF fandom, I wasn't entirely wrong). First OTP may have been Jack and Jennifer on Days of Our Lives...
Fanworks/fan activities: I think organising Sinpozium is my only significant thing lately
Tell us something about yourself: I have been lured into reading things I know nothing about on the basis of "this is a really good long outing and/or woke up married fic", so its probably fair to call them bulletproof tropes for me. Bought a unit a few months ago and am in the process of changing jobs, so life's been kinda busy lately. I love my Kindle more than is seemly. Seeing the feral rabbits that live around here nearly always makes me start singing "bunnies, bunnies, it must be bunnies!" from Buffy musical ep.

Fanworks/fan activities: I am fandom's slowest writer. I am currently undertaking little-to-no fannish activity in an attempt to focus on fic. It sort of works. A bit.
Tell us something about yourself: My favourite colour is teal. My favourite Doctor is Four... or Nine. I spent a very weird year in Top Gear RPF, solely for James May. I live in terror of meeting Martin Freeman (he'll get hugs. I don't want to be That Woman Who Glomped Martin Freeman). Star Wars, obviously. Queen, please. Also, I've been in fandom for nearly 16 years, I have very narrow tastes in fic (angst. And... no, that actually about covers it) and am therefore really angry that I'm enjoying a ST mpreg right now. What was your first fandom? : Buffy for het, Smallville for slash. Sailor Moon was significant as well.
Fanworks/fan activities: I....am a bad person who consumes a lot but doesn't contribute very much. I am a cheerleader!
Tell us something about yourself: I have realised that i get way less rage-y if I have to pause reading fan fiction and go to work than if I have to stop in the middle of a book. ::shrugs:: When I lived in Scotland I spent a lot of time playing katamari damarcy on playstation 2 - I have built a 2km high katamari. It was pretty sweet.
I find it very ironic that I am now a hockey fan considering I didn't really have any opinion on hockey when I lived in frickin' canada for a year.

Tell us something about yourself: Um. My mind is blank. I play bass? I have pet mice. I like to talk. I'm an American. (I think those last two might be related.) I'm into porn, plants, long walks, music, glass dildos, watercolors, my baby nephew, reading and writing fic, cooking, and knitting--NOT all at the same time. :)
Also, I live locally and I can put someone up on my air mattress in my studio apartment, if any out-of-towners are looking for very cramped but very cheap (ie free) accomodations.

What was your first fandom? : Buffy, years ago in high school. I started off reading episode guides because my folks were strict and I mostly missed the episodes. The same websites had fanfic and amazingly some pretty good slash too. The rest is history.
Fanworks/fan activities: I read a lot and write a bit. Not as much as I'd like to but life does so run in the way! I admire other types of fanworks but have little talent in producing any.
Tell us something about yourself: I'm a wanderer both in fandom and in life. In fandom I wonder around reading a little of everything and when something interests me I obsessively read everything I can find till I get bored and start wandering again. I'm kind of like this in life as well, I wonder around... current place is in western NSW, a town with a half sized supermarket, two petrol stations and five pubs.

Tell us something about yourself: Favourite colour is blue, preferably with the lilies of France on it (I adore the French Herald in H5.) Favourite Doctor: Three, mostly because I also adore the Brig. And the Beatles if I had to choose, but it's a damned close-run thing. I agist miniature horses for the stud farm across the highway, which is extremely useful for horse characterisation and also keeps my grass mown for free.
